AV Training and System Handover: What Good Looks Like

An installation is not complete when the equipment switches on. It is complete when the people responsible for the venue can use it confidently and know what to do if something goes wrong.

Phantom Production Design provides structured training and handover for new and upgraded AV systems. Sessions are tailored because an everyday user needs different knowledge from an in-house technician or facilities manager.

Training can cover startup and shutdown, room presets, microphones, presentations, playback, basic fault finding and safe connection of visiting equipment. We focus on realistic tasks rather than overwhelming users with advanced features.

A good handover also includes documentation such as system drawings, equipment schedules, labelled rack information, operating guides, warranty details, configuration backups and commissioning records. Separate sessions, quick-reference guides and refresher training can support different user groups.

Planning training as part of the project helps organisations gain more value from their investment and reduce avoidable support calls. Phantom PD can train users on our installations or help a team understand an existing system.
