What Is Venue and AV System Design?

A successful AV system begins before any equipment is ordered. Venue and system design turns the needs of users, audiences and operators into a coordinated technical plan.

Phantom Production Design supports new venues, refurbishments and upgrades with practical AV design consultancy. We begin by understanding what the space must achieve, how often it changes between uses and who will operate it.

The design process can cover sound, lighting, video, communications, control, networking, power, equipment locations and cable infrastructure. We consider room layouts, sightlines, acoustic behaviour, access, maintenance and integration with other building services.

Early design work prevents blocked projector views, missing cable routes, unsuitable power provision or equipment that cannot deliver even coverage. Outputs can include concept designs, schematics, layouts, equipment schedules, budgets and recommendations.

We can remain involved through specification, tendering, installation and handover or provide a defined package for another team to deliver. Whether you have a clear brief or only an idea of what the venue must do, Phantom PD can turn it into a realistic, coordinated system design.
