Why a Clear Technical Specification Matters

A technical specification is the foundation for fair pricing and a successful installation. Without one, suppliers can interpret the same brief differently, making quotations difficult to compare and leaving responsibilities unclear.

Phantom Production Design writes technical specifications for AV, lighting, sound, video and associated venue systems. A specification can define performance requirements, architecture, standards, interfaces, infrastructure, installation quality, documentation, training, testing and commissioning.

Good specifications leave room for appropriate technical solutions while removing ambiguity that could later become a variation or compromise. They make procurement more transparent because competing proposals can be assessed against the same requirements.

We can produce a complete specification following our own design work or develop an existing client brief. For larger projects, we can support tender queries, proposal evaluation and verification during delivery. Investing in a clear technical specification can protect the budget, improve quotations and give everyone a shared definition of the expected result.
